Inspired Roots Independent School

Welcome

IRIS goes MOBILE!

Help us build our mobile classroom! Donate today!
What is a mobile classroom?
A mobile classroom removes the four walls of a traditional classroom by creating an authentic learning experience in any learning environment. Imagine students traveling to a local garden, going on nature walks, or exploring a local beach to touch, feel, hear, see, and taste all that is around them. This is our goal for building this mobile classroom.

Help us bring real world experiences to children! Help us remove obstacles to public transportation. Donate today!

OUR VISION

IRIS is inspired by the cultural diversity of the San Diego region. Uniquely positioned as an international border city, San Diego maintains inextricable ties to its southern neighbor Mexico, and has long been a destination for refugees and immigrants worldwide who seek opportunities and a new life. IRIS is a hub of collaboration and innovation that provides equitable access to high-quality education for underserved students and families, while valuing and building on the languages, cultures, and experiences of a diverse population.

OUR MISSION

IRIS is a WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accredited, innovative school committed to low-income, refugee and immigrant students and families. We use teacher excellence, collaborative family partnerships, and community connections to create an active educational exchange where students and families participate and thrive in the social, cultural, and economic fabric of San Diego.
